PVLFC Program

Under 7 – Under 11 Program

PVLFC follows the strategy of Football Federation Australia (FFA) to actively encourage grassroots football for Australian kids. AIA Vitality Miniroos provides boys and girls aged 4-11 with a fun introduction to the world game.  It focuses on learning new skills, being active, making life-long friends and, potentially, unearthing the next generation of Socreoos or Matildas. – Source: FFV website.

Under 12 – Under 17 Program

PVLFC aims to focus on building a solid foundation of technical skill dealing with the development of the 4 functional game skills;

  1. First touch
  2. Striking the ball
  3. Running with the ball
  4. 1 v 1

These core skills account for most of the actions on the pitch during a game, so continued training of these will allow them to perform effectively during a game.

Additionally the development of tactical awareness, perception and decision making through game related approach to training forms an important part of the higher age groups.

Off-season Development

At the conclusion of the season, a number of our Juniors expressed an interest in Futsal..  Great support by parents and coaches has helped make this a success and has greatly improved their close-quarter skills.
